Dear Wiseguy,

I am writing about the state of our planet and where it seems to be headed. During the 80’s and 90’s, I believed that we were at the threshold of a “New Age” of enlightenment for our planet, or as some have called it, the Golden Age. I could hardly wait to welcome in this new age of light and love but now, especially after September 11th , I am experiencing feelings of fear, confusion and despair. I feel let down and just don’t know what to think anymore. Can you help?

Since time immemorial, we have had our faith tested as that which is of the light has been challenged by its shadow. This shadow seeks to obscure the horizon and through creating fear, bring us into a fog where it becomes difficult, if not impossible, to discern the truth of what is going on. And ‘now’ is such a time.

So here are a3 things you can do to help yourself regain your perspective, clarity and vision:

Make the time to slow down and venture within yourself through establishing a serious meditation practice. You will find that within you lies a deep, all knowing self which is wisdom itself. You will discover truths about yourself which affirm that as an eternal light being, you can never be eclipsed by the dark; rather, it is only when you buy into fear, that you become immobilized by feelings of despair and confusion. And as you become more connected to and centered within this truth, your light will transform the darkness to create a powerful, brilliant beam which, like the sun piercing through the dark clouds, will liberate and restore your faith in the beauty, the bliss and the gift of life.
Choose to associate only with those individuals of like mind & heart. These will be people who ‘automatically’ resonate with you. It is critical that those who no longer ‘fit’ with you anymore, be they family or long time friends, are released in order to make space for others who are in alignment with you. Such alliances create the ‘moral’ and ‘emotional’ support needed to guide you through these challenging times when your faith is being shaken.
Self-Educate by looking behind what is being shown and told to you by asking the question, “Who benefits from this?” Learning to look beyond the surface will bring you invaluable insight into what agenda’s are at work around you and more so, for whose benefit are they. Investigate alternate sources of news and information that are created by independent and unbiased researchers who also choose light. Become weary of those who profess to know what is ‘good for you’ and instead, connect with your own ‘inner’ guidance. By doing so, you will become empowered with an inner knowing through which you will once again, regain your clarity and vision about life, light and the power of love over fear.
